In the second half of 2024, Ocemida recruited 38 adult participants (ages 26 to 58) who self-identified as experiencing regular brain fog, afternoon energy crashes, or difficulty sustaining focus for longer than 30 minutes. All participants consumed 1.5 liters of hydrogen-rich water daily using our Nexis bottle (500 ml on waking, 500 ml mid-morning, 500 ml before lunch) for 21 consecutive days.
Each participant completed a daily 5-item self-assessment covering morning energy (1 to 10), longest uninterrupted focus session (in minutes), afternoon crash severity (0 to 5), overall mood clarity (1 to 10), and evening fatigue score (1 to 10). We used a rolling 3-day average to smooth day-to-day variation.
Most surprising finding: participants reported the first noticeable change not in morning energy (as we expected) but in their subjective experience of "afternoons." The classic 2pm to 4pm cognitive slump either disappeared entirely or became significantly milder before any change in morning energy was reported.
