Titanium Dioxide NANO PARTICLES (Rutile)
Rutile is one of three forms of titanium dioxide (TiO2) used for cosmetics and sunscreens for its non-toxic and non-reactive properties.
For ceramics, paint, glass manufacturing, photo catalyst coatings, geopolymers, self-cleaning surfaces and all kinds of experiments.
It has many unique properties, for example, titanium dioxide can be characterized as a white powder in bulk quantity.
However, titanium is transparent at a nanoscale dimension.
Rutile produces many crystalline, speckling, streaking, and mottling effects in glazes during cooling in the kiln and has been used in all types of coloured glazes to enhance the surface character. It is thus highly prized by potters, many attractive variegated glazes are made using it.
